UltraMax Motorcycle Saddlebags

This bit of kit fit perfectly on my 2003 Kawasaki Ninja EX500. More than enough room for a solid toolkit for roadside issues, some repair supply consumables, first aid kit, boost pack, bike cover, snacks, security chain and lock, and a 5-litre jerry can, all before needing to use the bag expanding zipper. Build quality seems great, easy to access all compartments while wearing gloves, and straightforward install. I don't have many kilometers of riding with them so far, and cannot yet speak to how well the included rain covers hold up, but the product has so far inspired confidence and satisfaction.

Makes a lot of extra room to carry on the bike

I got these bags for my Yamaha FZ6R. They had arrived only three days after ordering them. I was really impressed with the quality of the bags for the price.,they were very easy to put on my bike. I used them on a 4 day road trip, and had lots of room for all my stuff. The rain covers worked great, I ran in to a lot of rain the first day and every thing stayed nice and dry. Got say again great quality for the price.

The bags are pretty Skookum. They feel solid and worth the money. They feel as though they're going to be not a problem for any kind of trip. The wet bags store inside their own compartment outside which is nice. The bags almost double in size when you unzip the zip to expand they sit high and they clear my exhaust which is an upswept exhaust so that was a concern for me, but it is not a problem at all. I expect they'll be a little bit of a hassle to put on and off the bike as you're touring or travelling but that's the compromise for not having a fixed rack to mount them to. Overall I'm very happy and I'm looking forward to trying them out.

Quite easy to install either over the seat or under. My seat is a pain to remove so I mount it over the seat. With the tie downs it is more than secure enough.

It is more work to take on and off than hard luggage...lots of fiddling with straps. On the upside...very inexpensive. Quite good capacity. DONT NEED MOUNTING BRACKETS. Hard saddlebags with mounting hardware are quite a lot of money. This one delivers the carrying capacity at a very low price. Trade off is a little extra work to get it mounted/unmounted. I like it a lot.

Excellent design and good construction. The one issue I had was the plastic straps -- they do not stay buckled shut, and occasionally release, which causes the bags to sag lower on the bike. If this could be fixed, it would be a perfect product.

Buy these. You will not be disappointed.
Great value for your dollar.

Installed them onto a 2001 CBR 600 F4i. I was worried they'd sag and would be too large but fit perfectly on the back.

Only gripe that I have is that it is difficult to get all straps under the seat as I prefer it to be secured and locked underneath the seat. All in all, great product.

These Gears Canada UltraMax Motorcycle Saddle Bags are great.
Lots of room to bring home some groceries or other small shopping or take out foods.
You'll be surprised at how much can fit inside.
Would be good for traveling I suppose, although I purchased these Saddle Bags for my E-Bike.
Very sturdy, nice looking and durable saddle bags.

Impressive quality and tons of ways to fix them.

This review has been a long time coming. bought these bags a couple of months ago.
Actually purchased the larger version initially. but i found that it was too large for my motorcycle. my pillion's leg space was being hampered. contacted the good folks at Gears and they accepted the product returns and shipped me a new Ultra saddlebag.
Easy to fit on the motorcycle. Basically, connect the straps and sling it over the seat. I mounted it as per the instructions with the third strap going under the sear on my fender to reinforce it.
The provided instructions are more than adequate to help you mount it.
2000kms down the line and after enduring rain and shine, i can confidently say that these bags are well worth the money you pay for them.
They easily carry a couple of days worth of clothing for 2 people after the expansion zippers are used.
they are large enough to accommodate a full face LS2 helmet if needed.
The provided rain covers are more than adequate for rain protection in a sudden heavy downpour as I found during my trip to Tobermory. It would be nice though to have dedicated under bag storage compartments for the rainproof covers as on the other models of the saddlebags by Gears.
the retro-reflective piping is startlingly good at drawing attention on a gloomy evening.
All in all, Excellent construction and Value for money.
Would definitely recommend to others.
