Choosing a size
Measure from the joint between the leg and the groin to the ankle bone inside the leg. This measurement is commonly referred to as the inseam. These leg chaps should be a little shorter than your pant size.

Seamless Connectivity
Pairs seamlessly with our heated insoles or heated socks via the convenient hideaway plugs at the end of each leg. These leg chaps come with a splitter, which allows you to add-on and power heated insoles via a single switch cord or single temperature controller (sold separately). The diagram below illustrates how to connect our heated clothing seamlessly. Gen-X3 and Gen-X4 are compatible with one another.

FAQs
Q: What are the specs?
A: The leg chaps work with a 12V battery providing 46 watts of heat and draw 3.4 amps of current (as tested while the engine was idling).
-----------
Q: Will this work alongside other brands of heated clothing?
A: Yes! All our heated clothing is compatible with Firstgear, Gerbing, Warm & Safe, Tourmaster, and Venture Heat. You may need an adapter such as our SKU 100386-1 or 100389-1.
-----------
Q: What is the difference between Gen-X3 and Gen-X4?
A: Gen-X3 uses a copper-based heating element (made in the USA), whereas Gen-X4 uses Zepto fibres (made in France). Thus, Gen-X4 heats up faster, generates more heat, and is lighter. Both are amazing products, but Gen-X4 is just a little bit of an upgrade!
-----------
Q: How do I wash and dry this heated apparel?
A: It can only be machine washed if your washing machine has a hand wash cycle. Please note that the hand wash cycle is typically only available on newer washing machines. If your machine does not have a hand wash cycle, then you must manually wash by hand. For drying, you can only hang dry. Do not use a drying machine.

Optional Portable Battery Add-on
Consider purchasing one of our Heated Clothing Portable Battery Kits if you'd like to use your heated leg chaps when you get off your vehicle. In other words, a portable battery will allow you to use these chaps while skiing, snowboarding, or just taking a walk on a cold day.

Liked the idea of the chaps, but had to send them back. First, though they look simple, there are just too many velcro connections and that is a lot of work to try and get them on and in the right place every time (13! total non-electrical connections each time you put them on). Second, at the ankle, there is a lot of material. You need to go very short on these, otherwise your boots will really struggle. Finally, the deal-breaker, the sock connector on the chaps is Female and only works with other Gears heated socks/over socks/soles. All other common brands (Gerbring, Warm&Safe/FirstGear, California Heat) have a Male connector in the leg liners to connect with a Female heated foot component. This made it impossible to simply connect to my existing gear, and will likely only connect to Gear's socks. I really wanted to like them, but didn't even apply electricity to them. The two pairs I ordered went right back. Very disappointed and don't understand why Gears would design something that is incompatible with the rest of the market.
I am currently using the chaps while snowmobiling. I have only had the chaps set on the 4th setting of the controller and my legs have been toasty warm. I highly recommend a temperature controller as I think the chaps would be too warm with just an on switch. The chaps are very comfortable and well made.
Thank you!! Looking forward to serving you again
