Q: What are the specs?

A: The vest produces 53 watts of heat and draws 3.9 amps of current (tested when the engine was idling).

Q: Will this work alongside other brands of heated clothing?

A: Yes! All our heated clothing is compatible with Firstgear, Gerbing, Warm & Safe, Tourmaster, and Venture Heat. You may need an adapter such as our SKU 100386-1 or 100389-1.

Q: What is the difference between Gen-X3 and Gen-X4?

A: Gen-X3 uses a copper-based heating element (made in the USA), whereas Gen-X4 uses Zepto fibers (made in France). Thus, Gen-X4 heats up faster, generates more heat, and is lighter. Both are amazing products, but Gen-X4 is just a little bit of an upgrade!

Q: How do I wash and dry this heated apparel?

A: It can only be machine washed if your washing machine has a hand wash cycle. Please note that the hand wash cycle is typically only available on newer washing machines. If your machine does not have a hand wash cycle, then you must manually wash by hand. For drying, you can only hang dry. Do not use a drying machine.

Q: My powersport vehicle has an SAE lead installed on its 12V battery, intended for connection to a trickle charger or battery maintainer. Is it possible to use this SAE lead to bring power to my heated clothing?

A: Yes! You just need to buy the SAE to Female Coax Adapter (SKU 100252-1). Using this adapter eliminates the need for the Coax Battery Cord (SKU 100227-1).

Q: My powersport vehicle has a female cigarette lighter socket, also referred to as a 12-volt accessory outlet. Is it possible to power my heated clothing from this socket instead of a direct connection to the vehicle's battery?

A: Yes! You just need to buy the Male Cigarette Lighter Plug to Female Coax Adapter. (SKU 100224-1). Using this adapter eliminates the need for the Coax Battery Cord (SKU 100227-1).

Optional Portable Battery Add-on

Consider purchasing one of our Heated Clothing Portable Battery Kits if you'd like to use your heated vest when you get off your vehicle. In other words, a portable battery will allow you to use this vest while skiing, snowboarding, or just taking a walk on a cold day. You won't need to use your temperature controller when you're using the portable battery because there are buttons on the battery to adjust the temperature. If you plan on connecting heated gloves or glove liners via the snap points behind each shoulder, then you will need to purchase the Male Coax to Dual Female Coax Adapter (SKU 100229-1).
